The Southern Era

The Southern Era

The Southern Era was marked by the move of the company headquarters to a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, known as Duluth. This spot was chosen for its proximity to one of the firms earliest partners, a Ms. Susan Sicard.

Our Mac division was opened in 1992, with the signing of a contract with Accomplishments Through People, Inc. (ATPI) and Laarhoven Design.  The company focused on maintaining the accounting system for ATPI, and maintaining the LAN for Laarhoven. Our contract with these two companies ended in 1995, but our time with them provided the company with a great deal of understanding of business and computers.

This was also the time period of our foray into the consulting business. In a partnership with Andersen Consulting, we learned about multiple languages, including C++, Visual Basic, and UNIX. This was also our first experience with Internet technology, through the creation and maintenance of the Atlanta TIS server and web site. It is also where the company started to focus on this technology, eventually leading to the break up of our relationship with Andersen Consulting. They were not yet ready to pursue this technology, and we were.

We made significant progress on the Internet side of our business with our first web presence, the home page for Mr. Pollard, and the partnership with Mr. S.  This last partnership resulted in the formation of our Northern office, one of our busiest during the last quarter of the year.

Eventually, we decided it was time to move on to bigger and better opportunities, which we discovered were plentiful in Houston, Texas.  So, the company decided to move on to its Texas Years.
